When you know how to navigate the differences.
Most things can be boiled down to people meeting people. That's why modern leadership is about more than leading people, it's about leading through people. Leading so that everyone feels that it is worth getting involved, worth taking personal responsibility and worth contributing their own efforts for the good of the whole. Even when it is exhausting.
By awakening intrinsic motivation and communicating in ways that resonate with people's values, the hidden power that leads to wellbeing and results is unleashed. When everyone feels that their contribution is valuable and meaningful, they are motivated to work towards common goals
In a complex time, where differences can create conflict, leadership is challenged to create value for everyone in the team. People have different ways of thinking and functioning, and their interpretive filters can create different views of what is valuable and meaningful. This requires a sensitive and empathetic leader who can successfully navigate through the diversity of perspectives and find common ground.
By unlocking the existing power of individuals and harnessing their unique skills and experiences, leadership can create high-functioning teams and organizations. It is about creating an inclusive culture where differences are seen as an asset rather than a barrier. By deepening leadership in leading through people, new opportunities are opened to maximize potential and achieve sustainable success together.
